What this is
Not textbook lessons. We work on the English you actually need this week — the presentation you're giving, the meeting you're running, the email you keep rewriting — so you communicate with confidence across cultures, teams, and clients.

Who This Is For
You work with international coworkers, overseas branches, or foreign clients. And you want to communicate, collaborate, and lead across those teams more effectively.
You believe stronger English will open new career opportunities. And you're ready to invest in the work to make that happen.
You use English at work but want to improve Some moments feel smoother than others, and you want to close that gap.
You've learned a lot on the job. But you've never taken the time to invest in your own business skills development.
You want an external thinking partner. Someone outside your bias — a fresh perspective, a different cultural lens, and no political baggage.
You're facing real career challenges. Leading a team, feeling pressure to perform, feeling stuck, or weighing a big decision — and you want space to reflect on it.

About the Sessions
60-minute 1:1 sessions, online or in-person in Tokyo. Conducted in English; Japanese available where it helps.
How it goes
We start where you are
A presentation to prep, a meeting next week, a phrase that keeps tripping you up, or a bigger career question — the session shapes itself around your situation.
We work through it — practice and perspective
Drilling the English, role-playing the meeting, refining the slides, or stepping back to think strategically. Whatever the situation actually needs.
You leave with something to use — and build on it next time
Polished language, sharper thinking, concrete next steps, plus a written summary you can refer back to. You try it in the real meeting or email; next session we debrief what worked and build from there.
Examples of what we might work on
Adapted to your career stage
Wherever you are — getting started, leading your first team, or further along — sessions are calibrated to where you are and where you're going.
Adapted to your English level
Sessions work for all levels — from polishing near-native fluency to building confidence with everyday business English.
日本語もOKです
We can use Japanese during sessions for nuance, clarity, or whenever it helps you think and express yourself more freely.

About Kevin
I'm an American living and working in Tokyo. My background is in education, HR, and people development — over a decade of supporting professionals navigating careers across languages, cultures, and expectations.
I started Collier Consulting because of something I kept seeing: language learning often feels demotivating. Most schools do the same things — the same drills, the same textbooks, the same generic conversations. Motivation fades because the work doesn't connect to your real life. I wanted to build something different — practical English you can use the next day, in the meeting you actually have tomorrow, with the colleagues and clients you actually work with. The kind of coaching where the next level of English you need feels within reach, because it's tied directly to your work.
What makes this different from an English lesson: I've spent over a decade in HR and people development, and I have an MBA. So when the conversation turns to your career — a promotion, a hard decision, how to position yourself for an international role — there's someone in the room who can actually think it through with you. The English is the work; the perspective is what you don't get from a tutor.
Language is a tool. Your career is the real goal.
Most coaching helps you perform better at work. I help you figure out what you actually want, communicate with confidence, and feel like yourself at work again. I'm your career partner — bringing an outside perspective, real business experience, and a safe place to reflect and grow.
“I can talk with Kevin like a friend, without feeling nervous — that's why it's easy to keep going. He sets a clear path each week, which makes it easier than studying on my own, and I can feel myself improving.”
